My curly hair routine

Hey lovely people.

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend. We are having some great weather here in Toronto which apparently hasn’t been been recorded in 38 years! Anyway, I wanted to share my curly hair routine with you guys, as well as products that I use and live by!

My hair has been doing amazing lately. Curls are back, and healing back very nicely. I am getting back that lively bouncy look! I am loving it!

My hair routine is very simple and straight forward, which is the best way to go about things. There are exceptions of course, as some hair is harder to maintain than other types and textures. It may need a bit more.

Here is my youtube video that shows you better than I can explain!!! Let me know, all my girls with curls, what products you use or some tips and techniques!

Happy 2017!

Happy New Years everyone! I know I am a few days late but I want to wish everyone an amazing, healthy and successful year ahead.

I didn’t go out to on New Years Eve, just like the previous year and I always feel guilty for not celebrating. In my culture, New Years Eve is a big deal and you must go out and party and be festive, so I grew up always doing these over the top parties. In recent years, I don’t know if I am just old and boring but I don’t feel for it. Plus, it’s cold and everything is expensive and not fun like it used to be.

How did you spend your NYE?

Anyhow, this is one of the first make up looks I did in the new year. I am in love with this purple lipstick by LA Girl. It’s from their matte collection and it’s called Love Triangle.

It’s a really vibrant purple with a blue undertone. (Yes I did change my chokers between pics because the gold one was scratching my neck! lol)

If I can say one thing that I don’t like is that it stains my lips bright pink! Like fuschia. And it stays on for the entire day no matter what.

I picked up a few more of their lipsticks from the same matte collection and I am really happy with all of them. I will go back for more shades.

I also got a few of their lipglosses that I am not happy with at all and a highlighter that is really pretty but doesn’t distribute smoothly.  So maybe I’ll do another blog post as a review.

Have you tried any products from LA Girl Cosmetics?

Until next time! Nina xo

About the other day…

Hello gorgeous people! it’s been absolutely crazy busy the past month as I was moving….something I hope I do not have to do again for a long time. I hate moving with a passion. I haven’t worn make up or even brushed my hair lol as I simply still am unpacked and don’t know where anything is!!! But this week I was asked if I am sick since my face looks different ….rude, right? so I figured it’s time I start looking human again.
Here is a look I did a few days ago.

And I love what no hair dye has done to my curls!  my hair is healthy again.
The other day I almost dyed it because all the shades I have underneath are starting to show slowly and it’s driving me nuts but better to have healthy hair than dope colour and fried frizzy mess with stringy curls.

Miss you all

Gothic look

So,Gothic type of look definitely isn’t my type of style but then again I consider myself to be versatile and so lately I find myself reaching for deep and dark tones.  I know fall time brings that whole look about anyway….

I absolutely love this lipstick. It’s actually a mix of two : Kapow by Colourpop and Dark Cherry by NYX.  Even though they are completely two different textures, Kapow super matte and Dark Cherry creamy and glossy it worked. I got this amazing deep plum tone.

The second one is NYX turnt up lipstick in wine and dine. Another gorgeous deep red/plum tone.

Who else never thought chokers would come back? Ugh. Even once they did I thought nope never I will not give in to this trend and now it’s my first accessory I reach for.

Happy Monday yall. 😋

Electric blue

I shared this jump suit before but every time I put it on I fall in love with it all over again, so why not share a second time? I adore the colour, it’s extremely comfy and gorgeous.

This is a Michael Kors jump suit I found at Marshalls for only $50. It’s a great deal.
You can dress it up or down, really depending on what shoes you choose to wear with it.

Today I have decided on these Marc Fisher wedges which are really light and my feet can endure all day. Plus they are a nude/beige shade so they go great with any outfit.

Jumpsuits and rompers is something I love to wear and will never go out of style for me.

How do you guys feel about one piece suits?

Black and white

It’s almost weekend time and that’s especially good news since it’s long weekend here in Canada. 🇨🇦 I hope the weather cooperates. Here’s a professional office look but still chic and modern.

I took a few different pics but ended up liking NONE so that’s why I have only one photo to share and shoes got cut off as well. Hmm …😞

Anyway , even though both the skirt and shirt have different patterns and designs going on , it goes together and I love pairing up things like this that don’t look like they should go together but do!

I promised a giveaway when I reached a 1000 subscribers and next post will feature all the info! Stay tuned✌🏼

The other day…

Here’s a simple but cute casual look with just a jean dress and gladiator sandals. This is comfortable to just chill out in and be out and about all day and it’s chic and sexy.

I do love any kind of strappy shoes. It just adds a little something extra especially when wearing a dress or a skirt, even shorts.

These do tie all the way up but I chose to keep them lower with this outfit.

Dress: Winners

Flats: Urban Behaviour
Do you guys like strappy shoes? I know they can be annoying as strings tend to roll down. 😦

I am back! (FOTD)

Hello beautiful people! I haven’t posted or done much of anything else for the past week and a half or so because I was so sick with the flu. I have never been this sick in my life.  I am now 80% better and have a feeling the other 20% will be a slow process. Today is my first official day back at work so here I am 🙂

I have been pretty much bed ridden and make up and fashion was the last thing on my mind. I’ve placed an order with Gerard Cosmetics about 3 weeks ago so when it finally arrived a few days ago it definitely brightened up my spirits.

I will do a full review of the products I got as well as my experience with ordering from Gerard Cosmetics so I won’t go into too much detail here.

Today I am wearing one of its lip glosses in Cocoa Bean and I must say I love it. I wasn’t sure if this shade would suit me but I really like it.

I still don’t have much energy so eyeliner, lashes and some highlighter is all I could manage.

I hope everyone is healthy. It’s the flu season I get it but here in Toronto it’s been really bad. I mean everyone I speak with almost is sick. This flu was no joke. The way my throat hurt was something out of this world on top of all the other aches I felt.

Stay healthy !!

Much love

MOTD: Simple yet effective

I can’t believe we are almost in November! Where did this year go? It’s scary. Anyway, I really like how my make up came out today considering I did in all of 7 minutes. I like the rosey pink look. It’s really subtle shades but at the same time they stand out.

Eyes: Estee Lauder Mauve duo eyeshadow in Raspberry. I used both shades very lightly but the shadow is buildable and it can look more pigmented.
Rimmel Exaggarate Liquid Eyeliner
Too Faced Better than sex Mascara

Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip brow pomade in Dark Brown

Lips: MAC Prolong Lipcream in Overtime.

Face: Vichy foundation and MAC Warm Soul blush.

Pink tones don’t necessarily have to be for spring/summer. I think depending on how you do your make up and the shade of pink you use it can be all season appropriate!
