Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

ImageThese are not new lip products by any means. They have been around for some time now, they’re quite popular and I have been using them for a while and I know there are ton of reviews on them. But, I absolutely love these lip butters so here is my take on my 4 favourite shades.

L-R: Berry Smoothie, Gum Drop, Sugar Frosting and Cotton Candy

I absolutely love these lipsticks. They feel incredible on your lips. Just like the name says, the substance is so BUTTERY.

They are:
– VERY moisturizing
– soft and creamy
– relatively long lasting
– not extremely pigmented but they are buildable
– no funky scents or taste
– many shades to choose from

1. Gum drop
This is my favourite shade. It’s a beautiful milky lavender colour. Some lavender’s can make you look like a corpse and wash you out but not this one. I think it’s the glossy sheen effect.

2. Cotton Candy
This is a rose pink / medium pink shade. It’s just very pretty and every day kind of pink. It has very very subtle shimmer that you only see when light hits it. I would describe this colour as … if your lips have already pink pigmentation in them, this is like an enhanced version. Perfect for every day

3. Sugar Frosting
This is the palest out of all 4. It’s very sheer and shimmery but not frosty by any means. It’s a pale nude. I feel it’s perfect with a smokey eye.

4. Berry Smoothie
This is the most pigmented out of the 4 I have. It’s not deep or dark by any means but more of slightly pale berry red. It’s like a pale red wine. It’s super glossy and no shimmer at all. I feel when I don’t do up my eyes a lot, when I have only some liner and mascara, this is a perfect lip to brighten up my face.
ImageThere is another one I should mention that I used to use before, Creamsicle. It’s a nude as well but more of a peach tone to it. During winter when I am pale as hell this does not go with my skin tone because I look terrible but during the summer when I have my nice tan and glow, this is a great colour.

Have you guys tried these? Which ones are your favourite?

      1. It’s a reddish-orange colour but not overwhelming. It’s really nice though. I bought it from a recommendation and since it was the first one I fell in love with it! x

      2. You never know this one might surprise you 🙂 it’s more on the red side if it helps.

    1. You’re so right. It really is perfect for every day. I feel that whenever I am in a rush or not sure which lipstick to wear for the day, I find myself reaching for Sugar Frosting. It goes with any look and it’s perfect for a daytime natural look. 🙂

      1. Exactly preach girl haha!!! It’s the perfect go to color and like you said it deff goes with anything and everything. Btw, love your makeup and love your blog. I just started following you =)
