My Favourite Nude Lipsticks

In my last blog post I wrote about how to find the perfect NUDE shade for your skin tone so now I wanted to show you what my favourite NUDE lipsticks actually are.

These are in no particular order.

1. MAC Hue
This is a perfect warm light nude pink based lipstick. The texture is very creamy and buttery and feels amazing on the lips. The finish is glaze, which means it’s sheer but with a glossy finish. Even though it’s sheer, it’s very buildable and you can get a more textured look.
The scent is almost like vanilla, light and pleasant.
The shade is so neutral it really compliments any skin tone.
The only downfall to this lipstick is that it really does not last long but I love it so much that I don’t mind re-applying. Also, it goes amazing with a smokey eye for an evening look but it’s also great for a natural every day look too.

2. Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting finish Matte Lipstick in Nude 113
I actually hated this lipstick when I got it. The shade itself looks a perfect peach nude and when I tested it on my hand it was great. However, putting it on my lips it was not flattering at all. Very drying and cracked looking. But then I just applied some chapstick first and now it’s my go to nude for the day.
The shade is EXTREMELY PALE peach nude. You may choose to use it with a lipliner because it could wash you out depending on your skin tone. The texture is powder like. The finish is matte. Just like with any matte lipstick, you should exfoliate your lips first before applying or this will come across very patchy. In this picture it does not look matte because of the chapstick I am wearing underneath.

3. NYX Matte Lipstick in Nude
This is a very odd nude to me. It looks so peachy almost orangey in the tube but on the lips it comes across with a pink undertone. Just as the name says, it is a matte lipstick. Highly pigmented and relatively long lasting. It is a very bold nude, not subtle as most nudes are. It also applies very thick and it is incredibly drying. I do find the dryness of it quite uncomfortable. Some matte lipstics are so dry but you can bare, not this one so I wear this nude with lipgloss so it is not a matte lipstick the way I wear it but it looks just as pretty.

4. MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Supremely Confident
This is a very cool toned nude, almost white and pearly looking. I can’t wear this all year round as it has great potential to make you look deathly. It goes on very creamy and glossy. It has a very pleasant and subtle vanilla scent. It lasts long enough but after a while the glossiness of it goes away and you’re left with the after colour of it which is very nude/white. The best thing about this lipstick is that it is amazing to mix with other colours, especially bold coloures. It can dilute the bright colours and make them softer and add a nice gloss to it.
One bad thing is that it applies patchy so make sure your lips are exfoliated.

5. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Precious
It’s a warm nude, very natural and not pink or peachy, just a perfect nude. It’s extremely hydrating and moisturizing and it feels smooth on your lips. No sticky feeling at all. It lasts long and even when it fades, it leaves your lips gently stained, in a good way!
For those days when I am running out the house quickly and I don’t want my face to be bare but I also don’t want to have heavy lips, one application of this gives you a sheer pretty touch . However, this is buildable and a few more applications you get a very pigmented look such as what I have in the picture.
They also have a nice minty smell and taste. I own a bunch of these in different colours and I love them all!

Pearly-Pink_pack-shot Maybe pearly

6. Maybelline Colour Sensational in Pearly Pink
Some may not consider this a nude lipstick and more of a pink but to me any pale lipstick is pretty much a nude. This is quite different. I don’t like frosty lipsticks and this is somewhat frosty you can say but it is so beautiful. It is a pale frosty pearly pink nude. It is so soft and suede on your lips. It adds a nice pearly touch to your lips but it can also be used on top of other lipsticks to add this beautiful sheer pearly look to them. I love Maybelline Sensational lipsticks and I have almost all of the shades and they are all incredible. They are hydrating and true to colour!

7. Lise Watier Nude Lipstick in Biscotti
As soon as I saw this nude I had to get it even though Lise Watier lipsticks are ridicilously expensive. It is a beige warm nude with pink undertone, perfect for any skin tone. It is soooo creamy and soft and buttery on your lips. It applies very nice and evenly and it smells great. I really don’t care for packaging but obviously it is what attracts us first and its packaging is so sleek and classy looking. The lipstick is very neutral and natural, perfect for daytime or evening look. Only thing is for the money that it costs, it should last wayyy longer than it does.

creamsicle

8. Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Creamsicle
Just as the name says this is so buttery. I don’t have the picture on my lips to show you because I am all out and that goes to show you how much I adore this lipstick. I have repurchased it 3 times already. It is a peach nude, very pigmented and easily applied. No patches, no streaks, just smooth all over. I love these butter lipsticks and I also own quite a few of them in various shades.

There are a bunch of other nudes I like and have used but these I find have been repurchased and repeated mostly. Let me know what some of your fave nude lipsticks are. I am always willing to try new ones.
